The most exciting news I can think of off the top of my head? The domain name "metabolic toad" is not taken. I know I want it, but what to do with it? Why? Nevermind.
Knitting news:
Currently on the needles are a Clementine shawl that was featured in the Interweave Knits magazine, maybe two issues ago? I have xeroxed the pattern out to carry it around with me, and I am sure I put the magazine itsself someplace...'special'....which means I will see it again when we move house. So never, basically.
This one is done in Knit Pick's wool, DK wieght I am pretty sure. Lost the label to the 'special' place, I'm sure.
Also: Fidgert is nearly done, on his Alpha test. I think I am going to run out of yarn, but we'll see. It's only a first knitting, and I completely failed to take notes on what I was doing. So naturally I will kick ass on the second run.
Also: My first attempt at charting...(no that Brak head sweater does not count, as I had no idea what I was doing. I was dead at the time! i was on the moon, with Steve....) Turns out that it is a lot more than just tracing the shape onto graph paper. Now I did know that I would have to make custom paper based on the aspect ratio of my gauge. In this case my 4 inch swatch gave me 30 rows and 19 stitches. Divide 30 by 19 and get 1.5, ta-da! The chart I am attempting? The Seal of Rassilon, of course.
Also: Ms. D's sweater of infinite ripping is turning out too small yet again. Cables...I love cables, but I knit too tightly and I can't seem to figure out a way to predict how much the cables will pucker the fabric, and how much smaller the finished item is once that happens. Hello math people! Tell me!!!
Also: Charmed Knits looks pretty cute, and even though I have sworn off pattern books, preferring to try and make my own, I am tempted.
Reading: As summer is now fully on, I have started over in the library at A. Finished up the Foundation Series, and am nearly done with Watership Down.
Otherness: Next month I will have been a driver for a whole YEAR! I have not deployed an airbag yet. I think I may celebrate. I am sure that everyone who is on the road with me feels similarly surprised.

There you are! Was beginning to wonder what happened. Thought you might have gotten bored with blogging.
Happy One Year on Driving!
